As the younger sister of Antonin Dolohov, Davina was raised as a spoiled child. Her parents were Russian aristocrats who moved to England to be diplomats in the English Ministry. While Davina grew up in a place very different from her home, she was happy and never wanted for anything. When she turned five, her parents decided it would be a good idea to relocate to England, permanently, and purchased a large manor in Leeds, located in northern England. As a result, Davina grew up among the British upper class. Her family still continued to have ties to the Russian elite, and Davina returned every summer to Russia to renew relationships with old family friends and other children her age.

When Davina turned 11, her parents decided that she would attend Durmstrang. Durmstrang was a school which everyone in their family attended, and Davina didn't mind continuing the family tradition. It also gave her an opportunity to get to know those from the same social class on a level that hadn't been permitted when she was a child--at Durmstrang, Davina made many friends and cemented many relationships that would become useful to her both socially and in her work.

At Drumstrang, Davina excelled academically, especially in the Dark Arts. She graduated with top N.E.W.T. scores and decided she wanted to work for the Ministry. After some consideration, she decided to apply and was accepted into the Department of Mysteries, and worked her way into becoming an Unspeakable. That is where (and how) she met her husband, Augustus Rookwood. Rookwood was charming, smart, and single--all three traits she valued in a partner. They were married after a whirlwind courtship, and although Augustus is quite older than her, Davina didn't mind the age gap. She joined the Death Eaters shortly after they met, and was marked on their wedding night.

She continues to serve the Dark Lord to the best of her abilities as she continues her work in the Department of Mysteries.

the personality.

[first impression] Davina is arrogant and looks upon herself as someone who is elite in society. She is willing to be polite and kind when necessary, but will not speak with someone unless they are of her station, or she absolutely has to. She is devoted to her work, in both the ministry and the death eaters, and to her husband, and although she wants to continue her family line, with the weaknesses from within her own family tree, she understands that any attempt at bearing children would be risky upon her health. As a result, she has chosen not to have kids, but hopes that her brother will.

Davina also has a fear of drowning in snow--although she understands that it is an irrational fear, she was trapped by her brother in a snow cave once, and has always feared it. Also, because of her tendency to easily bruise, Davina has never had a desire to play quidditch or any other type of sport.

[quirks] From birth, she has had a problem with bruising. She suffers from Haemophilia type A, which is inherited through the X chromosome. This is the result of the inbreeding that has occurred within her family--in attempting to keep their blood pure, the family chose to close itself off to outsiders for two generations, and this was an unfortunate side effect. It is also a very similar condition to Muggle European Royalty, tracing back to the beginning of her family's bloodline. While Davina bruises easily, it takes her slightly longer to heal even after using potions, and as she carries two defective x chromosomes, she refuses to have children. She understands that there is a 100% chance any male heir she would have would suffer from the disease, while any female would have a much larger risk of carrying it. However, if there is a cure or some way to prevent that from occurring, she would gladly attempt it.
